The short animation Contour is made with the drawings (more than 500) done by the audience of the same-titled dance performance shown in Finland and Iceland in 2025. The performance itself is based on the art of striking poses - a dance technique shaped by American Gay and Trans BIPOC cultures of Punking/Whacking and the Underground Ballroom scenes. Some of these poses are held long enough for the audience to draw. This effort of scripting an observation during a dance becomes a radical gesture. It challenges the normative gaze and invites everyone, regardless of their relationship to queerness, into a shared space of intimacy, reflection, and co-creation. The figure animated in the film, versions of me in all kind of drawing qualities, goes through a never ending metamorphosis at the pulse of the music used in the show.
